NBA Playoffs

Today I watched Game 7 of the Boston, Atlanta series. When I sat down to watch the game i thought that it would be a close game, but from the gate Boston dominated. Boston, at times showed signs of a championship team that is destined for greatness. I am excited for there next series against a more tough opponent. The Boston Three Party, as the big three are called seem to be a triple threat that can not be stopped. These next series for them should be interesting.

NFL Draft

Yesterday and today, i have watched the NLF draft closely. There are a lot of great players in the draft this year. The Steelers i think had a great first round with there picks. They got a good running back in Rashard Mendenhall and also in the early second round got a good wide reciever in Limus Sweet from Texas. This is not a typical Steeler draft that we are all used to. They are now goin for the more offensive threats then the typical defensive stoppers. I am really excited to see what these two rookies do in there careers in Pittsburgh.

Technology

Recently i have took the time to learn how to use microsoft frontpage. Before i took tech class, I had no idea what microsoft front page was. Now that i know what microsoft frontpage is i am able to create differant things such as a webpage. I am glad that i have become more aware of this application, as well as all the office applications. From Tech class i am now more aware and smarter using a computer then i ever was before.

Technology

I am amazed that you can watch baseball games live over the net. I am in Tech Pete right now , and our teacher has put up the games on the overhead. I can't believe the things you can do over the internet now. I am sitting here watching four differant games on the internet. Mlb t.v is a neat thing that they have on the internet now. I am curious to see if they have this online for all major sporting teams.

Powerpoints

I just currently finished my animated powerpoint quiz for Tech. I have to say I am pretty proud of myself. I am the type of person that is so computer illiterate. Before I took this class I was only able to serf the net and dowload music. I am glad that i took the time to sit down and do these projects the best I can. I now know how to make so many differant things on the internet, and it feels good to know how to do all these things.

Zune

I just got a Zune music player. They are a product made by Microsoft. I like it better then my nano. The zune has more features then i pods. However I have one of the older versions of the Zune, it is a little bit bigger and not really built for running with. I only listen to my music player walking around campus, and wherever else I walk because I have no car, so the Zune works out perfectly for me.

Davidson- Stephon Curry

On Friday I was watching Davidson University play Wisconsin University. I thought that they were going to dominate Davidson and Stephon Curry was going to be overpowered by the Big Ten defense of Wisonsin. Stephon Curry is an unbelieveable player. He always manages to create space enough to get his jumpshot off. He is the smartest player without the ball in the NCAA. From being a coaches son and always being preached on moving without the ball, the best player to watch is Stephon Curry. I hope that he keeps up his tear through the tournament and gets Davidson a Final Four appearance because he deserves it.

Technology

Heart rate monitors are used alot in physical education classes now a days. I had just had a lecture with a new teacher at erie mcdowell and she said that many phys ed classes are starting to use heart rate monitors to get kids grades. I am not sure if that is a fair thing to do. Most athletes have to out work every student in the class to get the same grade as a person that is not in good physical shape, though in ways i beleive that it is a good way to grade students. I think that they should make differant rules and goals for students that are in differant physical shape.

Ncaa Tourny

The Ncaa tournament is goin on and there is just basketball all over the tv. Many people are picking Kansas to take it all this year, but i am a bit sceptical of them doing so. I still think that UNC is the powerhouse to take the title this year. Unc has the Ncaa player of the year in Tyler Hansborough who maybe is the most dominant non pro ever. Tyler makes it difficult for teams to match up with Unc. If i was betting money in a pool i would go with UNC.

technology

Technology is something that progresses drastically over time. Over the weekend I watched the Movie the cable guy, and in the movie he said " we will soon be able to play mortal kombat with a friend in Vietname." That quote is so true. Over the last couple of years technology has grown so much that we can now play video games online against people all over the world. When i was growing up you were not able to do such a thing. This is something that crossed my mind and i thought that i would write about.

SRU V.S Clarion

The seasn is over. Slippery Rock Men's Basketball team suffered a crushing defeat saturday to The Golden Eagles of Clarion. Slippery Rock led the whole game, and let it slip away towards the end of regulation. Matt Scaffer played a solid game for the rock, and had a thrilling jump shot to send it to overtime and give the playoff hopes alive for the Rock. Though the Rock couldnt capitalize on the momenutum swinger they fell to defeat by four points and there playoff hopes are shattered. It was a up and down year for the Rock, though they didnt go to the playoffs, they got alot of good out of this season.

Sports

Tonight the Sru Men's Basketball team squares off against pernnial powerhouse California Pa. The rock is in a must win situation to keep their playoff hopes alive, and Cal is in a fight for the top spot in the Psac. The rock needs a big game out of the big men for the rock to compete tonight. Good rebounding and ball control will be the keys to victory for the rock.

Sru v.s IUP

Last Night Slippery Rock Men's Basketball team pulled out a big win. They defeated IUP here at Sru by seven points. It finally happened, the Sru mens team finally completed a whole game. Usually we never play a complete game, and lose at the end, but finally we completed the game. Sru is now a playoff contender for the first time in five years. I am very excited for our team, and i hope that we make the most out of this situation. We now have to win the next two games, and we secure a playoff spot.

Slippery Rock vs. Penn State New Kensington

On Saturday morning, the SRU Men's basketball team played Penn State New Kensington. Knowing this was sure to be a definite win for the SRU team, the morale in the locker room was much different from the previous week. The team showed a lot of confidence and determination before even stepping on the court. Penn State NK didn't seem to have much of a chance after the tip-off. Everyone on the SRU team had a chance to get in the game and contribute to the win. Slippery Rock beat Penn State New Kensington 87-63.

Technology

One thing that i found out that is really helpful is Microsoft publisher. I did not know that you can use microsoft publisher for so many things. Technology is something else these days. I did not know that you could create things from calendars all the way to flyers and certificates. From being in this technology class, i am learning so much more about technology. Tech pete is showing me that there is technology all around me, and i didnt even know it.

Technology today is increasing everyday of our lives. I am very impressed on how they are making more and more hybrid cars. Hybrid cars are cars that run on gas and electric. I think that this is very fascinating, and a great way to deal with the gas situation. Gas is a big problem today in our country and by the manufacturers that are producing more and more Hybrid cars are making it alot easier to deal with gas prices. Though right now hybrid cars are expensive right now becuase they are new on the market. I give it a couple more years and hybrids will be everywhere

SRU V.S Shippensburg

On saturday the mens basketball team played a tough hard fought game against Shippensburg. The mens team trailed the whole game until Itay Levy a freshman shooting guard came into the game and hit a three pointer with 10 seconds left to put the rock up by two points. The Rock finllay won and snapped a horrible losing streak. Darnell Johnson and Erroll Robinson were key players in contribution for the rocks win, and Wednsday they look to up there place in conference against Clarion Golden Eagles.

Sru v.s Cal Pa Mens Basketball Game

Yesterday my team had a game at home against Cal, Pa Mens Basketball team. Cal is known to be a powerhouse in the conference. In my perspective, I believe that we could have beaten them if we would have played to our personel. We tend to get away from what we are good at, and do things that we as a team aren't accustomed to doing. Cal is a big and slower team, and The Rock, we are more of a up and down running team. We let Cal slow the game down and pound the ball in the inside the whole game, and we are not necessarily the best post play team in the Psac. By doing this, this led to a Rock loss, and another must win for the next upcoming game.

Technology

Today in class, we talked briefly on how the television is becoming outdated. In the next two to three years, every person will have to get rid of their analog television. If they do not get rid of their old set, they will have to get a converter to convert their set to digial cable, because everything is started to revolutionize and become way more advanced with technology. I feel that it is a good thing, because these days its all about modernizing and using and development of new technology to guide us in the future.

Introduction

My name is Joe Marzullo, i am a 20 year old sophmore at Slippery Rock University. I am currently on scholarship at SRU for basketball and I am on the verge of getting my degree in Physical Education. I grew up in the city of New Kensington, it is a smaller city that is on the outscurts of Pittsburgh. I graduated from Burrell High School in 2006, but i did attend Blackhawk High School for my Sophmore and Junior year. I am Puerto Rican and Italian, and both sides of my families take their heritage very serious.
